David Bruce Snowball, 57, was a sergeant in the WA Police Force when in June last year he logged in to the police computer system to find out information about a neighbour.

The District Court was told Snowball’s partner, with his help, was running a business from their home called “Essential Massage Service” which was generating about $1,500–$2,000 a week.

Prosecutor Daniel McDonald said Snowball had wanted to obtain information about the neighbour “to keep him at bay” and to protect the income from the illegitimate business.
