Australian Insider Incident 2019: Doctor, patient details allegedly stolen in CSL Behring Australia espionage scandal

CSL Behring has filed a lawsuit against a former employee, claiming he stole sensitive information with the intention of passing it on to his new company.

The doctor accused of corporate espionage against one of Australia’s biggest companies, CSL, allegedly stole computer files containing patient information and the details of 800 doctors working with the blood giant, court documents show.

The data breach at CSL’s main operating subsidiary, CSL Behring, is part of a major alleged corporate espionage attack that has stung Australia’s third biggest company.

“Pharming is issuing this release to state for the record that Pharming did not induce or encourage Dr Chiao to breach any rules or contract terms or in any way to remove any data from his former employer” Pharming Statement
