In a recent development, ATF Services, a prominent Australian fencing and site security firm, has confirmed a cyber attack orchestrated by the INC Ransom ransomware gang. The gang claims to have exfiltrated one terabyte of data from the company, listing ATF Services as a victim on their darknet leak site on November 23, 20241.

Details of the Attack
The INC Ransom gang shared proof of the hack, including screenshots of file structures, internal contact lists, loan and tax documents, details of debtors and creditors, customer data, and earnings forecasts1. Despite the significant data breach, the gang has not listed a ransom demand or deadline1.

ATF Services’ Response
ATF Services acknowledged the incident, stating that it occurred in early October 2024. The company has engaged independent cybersecurity experts to contain the incident and investigate the breach. According to ATF Services, the incident affected a limited set of corporate information, and there is no evidence of misuse of any personal information1.

“We sincerely apologise for any concern that this incident may have caused,” an ATF Services spokesperson said. “Our systems are secure, and we remain committed to protecting the personal information we hold”1.

Broader Implications
ATF Services is one of 20 victims listed by the INC Ransom gang in November alone. The gang, active since August 2023, has attacked over 200 organizations, primarily in Europe and the United States. They are known for using spearphishing tactics and double extortion techniques, encrypting stolen data and threatening to publish it online1.

ATF Services, with offices nationwide, offers a range of security solutions including temporary fencing, crowd control barriers, height safety systems, and surveillance cameras through its Vision Intelligence business1.
