Cybercrime detectives arrest man following alleged data breach involving more than 1 million NSW clubs customer records

ID Support NSW confirmed more than 17 licensed clubs across NSW and the ACT have been implicated in the data breach.

“ClubsNSW has been made aware of a cybersecurity incident involving a third-party IT provider commonly used by hospitality venues, including 16 clubs. While limited information is currently known, we understand that some personal information of patrons of the clubs that use this IT provider may have been compromised.” – ClubsNSW

A Sydney man has been arrested by police over an alleged data breach of personal information of members and patrons from at least 17 licensed clubs in New South Wales and the ACT.

An unauthorised website claimed to have published online the personal details of many customers, with a threat to publish those of more than 1 million customers in the reported leak.

The website claimed to have records and personal information of senior government figures, including Premier Chris Minns, Deputy Premier Prue Car and Police Minister Yasmin Catley. The personal details that were possibly released include people’s club membership details and drivers licence details.

ClubsNSW Statement

Government agency ID Support NSW confirmed more than 17 licensed clubs across NSW and the ACT have been implicated in the data breach, including:
