Gold Coast Australian: Strata management firm SSKB is the latest company to fall victim to a ransomware attack
Attackers’ posted a ransom demand and claimed to have stolen 200GB of data from SSKB
A large Strata company on the Gold Coast has become the latest victim of a massive cyber hack.
The Australian reports SSKB, who are based on the Gold Coast with offices also across Queensland and in Melbourne, have been hit by the ransomware attack. The hackers are demanding a $460,000 ransom be paid over the next eight days, or are threatening to release the data
The criminals are reportedly claiming to have stolen 200 gigabytes of data from the company, including construction project data, customer financial information, management correspondence, contracts and agreements.
SSKB said it has called in an external forensics company, and notified the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) and the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC).
