Incident: Scammers Hosted Files on Equifax’s Australian Website | BankInfoSecurity

Australian Information Security Incident Reported: October 3 2017

Credit-reporting agency Equifax’s Australian website played host to scammers promoting pirated videos, live streams and books. The security error could have been exploited to Phish data, distribute Malware, the finding raises further questions.

Equifax’s Australian website played host for an unknown period of time to PDFs placed by scammers, apparently to promote pirate live-streaming services for NFL and World Cup soccer matches, books and other types of content.
