- Australia is currently at cyber war with ‘multiple rogue nations’Chairman of Southbank Capital Francis Galbally says Australia is currently engaging in a cyber war with a range of rogue nations who aim to penetrate our security and steal information. It comes amid growing concerns in relation to the scale of cyber-attacks on Australia in 2021. “We are at war with a range of people,” Mr Galbally told Sky News host Cory Bernardi. “Rogue nations who attack our systems in order to see if there are weaknesses in penetration and then to steal information.” He said the nations to which he is referring are North Korea, Iran, Russia, China, and even Western countries who are seeking to penetrate the security systems of each other. “The risk is huge,” he said. “It’s important now to understand that a huge amount of investment needs to be made by government, leadership needs to be taken by government. “We need to understand what these risks are.” Read more »Published: January 27, 2021 - 4:43 pm
