Incident: Victorian Game Authority inadvertently emailed customer data to hunters | ZDNet

Australian Information Security Incident Reported: January 17 2017

HUNTERS in Victoria will no longer receive Game Management Licence renewals via email, after it was revealed a bureaucrat mistakenly shared personal information of more than 8700 licensed shooters.

“Due to human error, GMA customer data was mistakenly sent to eight individual customers as an email attachment in the process of GMA customers’ renewing their game licences,” the Department of Environment, Land Water and Planning said.
